Board & Train
In our Board & Train programs, your dog will stay at The Ranch and will be taught and cared for by the owner and founder of The Dog Ranch, Juliann Elmco. Juliann is a certified trainer in dog obedience and behavior modification. Your dog will also be cared for by the Elmco family and be loved on as their own. In-board training is a fantastic option because it ensures a stable and low stress learning environment which is crucial for your dog to learn new behaviors and set a solid foundation of obedience.
Board & Train training reservations can be made by filling out the Initial Contact Form which can be found under the Contact tab.
Things to Know
While your dog stays at The Dog Ranch, your dog will not only get the training and attention that they need, but they will also have the opportunity to socialize and play with other socially appropriate dogs as well.
Our Board & Train dogs stay inside the main Elmco house, in a kennel-like area which is climate controlled in order to ensure safety and comfort. There is no specific time frame to sign up for our programs, we can work with you and your schedule and the availability of our space.

All of our Board & Train programs require that you provide:

Enough food to last throughout their stay

Valid Rabies Certificate

Current copy of vaccinations

Any medications that the dog may need

Board & Train reservations require a $100 non-refundable deposit to hold a space.
The Foundation
All packages include the following FOUNDATIONS:

Initial Consultation

Manners – We will help fix everyday problems such as leash pulling, jumping on guests, barking, bolting through doors, etc.

Heeling – your dog will heel by your side and automatically sit when you stop walking

Sit / Down
-
Down stay – your dog will stay in a down position at a targeted location that you choose

Place – your dog will stay at a targeted place that you choose

Private Handover Session at Graduation
PLUS – 3 FREE follow up sessions at The Dog Ranch that can be used within a year of graduating.
2 Week Course:
On-leash FOUNDATIONS Course
Includes all FOUNDATION commands with a focus on :

Heeling – On leash
-
Down Stay – Approx. 15 minutes
-
Place - Approx. 15 minutes
..includes bath at the end of training and a Herm Springer Prong Collar.

FOUNDATIONS Course plus Off-leash recall

Field Trips – your dog will have the opportunity to go with us on outings to different places (stores, outdoor etc.) and practice their commands so that their training can be reinforced in different environments.

Behavior Modification
If your dog has any behavioral issues we can certainly help you and your dog through problems. We offer customized training programs to help you and your dog overcome your concerns. Speak with Head Trainer Juliann about this, and together, we can come up with an individualized course of action for your dog after a consultation. This program is available in the 4- or 6-week option.
